Good Start For Mocs At USF Invitational
Matt Stauch is in a three-way for firstLed by Matt Stauch's four-under-par 68, the Moccasins got off to a good start Friday on the first day of the University of South Florida's Ron Smith Invitational at Lake Jovita in Dade City.
The only Division II school in the 24-team field, the Moccasins are in a three-way for second with Middle Tennessee and Campbell at 288, just two strokes behind first-day team leader North Florida, which came in with a 286.
Stauch is in a three-way for the individual lead. His round of 68 included eight birdies, including the final three holes.
Jude Eustaquio and Shelton Smith are tied for 19th at 72. Lee White shot a 76 and is tied for 74th. Danny Evelyn had a 78 and is tied for 92nd.
The tournament continues through Sunday.
